Two more shows

Fri, Apr 28 2006Comments (0) | Amy

If you haven't gotten the information about Depart-Ment moving, go take a look at the website. It's going to take place the weekend of May 20th.

And we got this email about a show in June:
Hi. My name is Emelda Ortiz, and thought you might beinterested in an event I'm helping plan.

I am managing a craft fair that is happening on June 4th (a Sunday) from
10-4pm at Acme Art Works (a cafe/artist collective in the Bucktown/Wicker
Park community in Chicago).

It's a benefit, the table fees and other items that we are selling will be
donated to the SHAC 7 (www.shac7.com), a group of animal rights activists
who have recently been convicted on mostly free speech charges (basically,
they ran a website with the intention of trying to close down an animal
testing lab- www.insidehls.com tells more about this lab). The table will
be a standard 6-8 foot table with several chairs. It'll cost $40, or $50
to share with someone. All money made, after the cost of the space and
making flyers, will be sent to a Chicago lawyer who is part of their legal
appeal team. We'll be selling donated crafts/art, having a bake sale, and
$2 fabric swap to help raise funds, in addition to selling tables.

If it's something you think you'd be interested in, please get back to me.
We've sold several tables already and we'd love to have a full house!

Emelda, from ARC

p.s.- due to the nature of this craft fair, we'd appreciate it if all
items sold were vegan, i.e. no real fur, wool, leather, feathers, honey,
bone, animal fat, etc. etc.

If you're interested, send an email to: animalrightschicago@riseup.net
